Get the paddock pass if you can. I did it at Barber and it was incredible seeing everything that close. If you catch them in a slump they were all pretty friendly and will talk to you

At Texas? Very high speeds and tight racing. As has been mentioned, get into the paddock and see the cars and teams up close. Most folks are friendly and will answer questions if you ask at an appropriate time. Check out the support paddock as well. IF you have a frequency scanner bring it. Adds a lot.

Indycar is best seen, IMO, at a natural terrain road course where you can go from corner to corner, but the ovals are impressive for the sheer speed.
